This project combines the restoration of three Character Homes with the addition of replacement rental units and strata townhomes, creating a total of 23 residences on a dramatically sloping site with sweeping views of the city skyline.

The Character Homes are positioned on the upper portion of the site, level with West 8th Avenue. Below, the new construction adopts a contemporary, fluid vernacular that cascades down Birch Street and extends along the lane, creating a deliberate contrast with the grounded historic homes while responding to the site’s topography.
